We keep a small flock of sheep here. Merv having suffered with a bad back for many years , the one thing when choosing a breed was they needed to look after them selves !! for this reason we choose the very hardy, self reliant , tough as they come Black welsh mountains as our female line, easy to care for and being a small ewe by modern lowland standards and very easy to handle when we need to, though as they are exceptionally good on their feet and of robust nature we seldom need to . They are however all bucket trained so they can be checked easily every day. So having sorted the female line we needed to choose our male so along came ‘Bruce’ our pedigree Blue texal a muscular compact breed with outstanding body confirmation and meat to bone ratio.
