Customer Accounting Database & DEFRA Requirements

Face to Face Sales

When you buy from us at the shop we complete a form with your name, address and contact details including email We record the information onto our accounting software ‘Quickbooks’. We are also under regulations by DEFRA to keep your details as you are buying livestock. This is so that we or DEFRA can contact you in the event of an infectious disease but also for Animal Health & wellbeing requirements. We attach the credit card receipt to the form and store it in a locked cabinet.

Online Sales

We use Woo Commerce to operate our store online, we download the data from woo commerce to use to keep in touch with you by email. We keep you updated with industry news, updates on Avian flu and other risks along with helpful tips, special offers and new products. All payments on our website are processed by Paypal.

Accounting Database

Our accounting software is ‘Quickbooks’. We only store your First Name, Surname, Contact Telephone Number and Email Address. This data is stored in a secure database on Quickbooks and is stored for the purpose of contacting you for accounting & animal welfare purposes in line with HMRC & DEFRA Guidelines. Please be assured that we do not share your personal details with any other company without your consent.

When someone visits moonridgefarm.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

We collect personal information through our e-newsletter sign up on our website. We ask for First Name, Surname and Email address. We all love working with poultry. Between us there is over 8 decades of experience in owning all types of poultry as a hobby and commercially. Our poultry team have qualifications in animal and poultry care. All our team participate in our regular training sessions led by top poultry vets.

As well as our breeds of chickens we have ducks, geese, quail, peafowl and guinea fowl, beautiful wildfowl and even rheas. All kept in a beautiful farm setting overlooking the Creedy valley. We have poultry paddocks, open fronted barns, a quackery, parkland and brooder areas where all our birds can be seen.
